Brass Band

Every regular guest at ELF probably knows that ELF has its own brass band; admittedly still a small brass band, with 6 or so regular members; but with a big sound nonetheless.

A brass band has several functions in a congregation, and in the course of time we want to expand our services within ELF as well:

  • To accompany the congregational singing at services and festivals, and to provide musical decoration to glorify God
  • To bring joy and hope to the sick and lonely, such as people in old age homes and hospitals, by reminding them of chorales and hymns that they know
  • To provide musical accompaniment at events such as weddings, funerals and significant birthdays
  • To bring the joy of music to people through concerts and special musical events
  • To provide members of the congregation with the opportunity to serve the congregation with their talents; to nurture these talents through disciplined practice

in summary, to proclaim the word of God and to serve the congregation in musical form.

To find out more about the ELF brass band, have a look at our schedule on the ELF website. If you used to play a brass instrument, or are currently learning, why not join us every Thursday from 18:30 to 19:30 for a practice. We also play on Sundays before the service, from 8:30 to about 8:50.
